About the Author
Gary Huber grew up in the streets of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a rough town filled with drugs, gangs, and violence. In 1975, his marriage of about a year ended one night when his wife came home groggy from drugs. Gary left her that night, taking their two-month-old daughter with him, to protect her.
Two years later, he was arrested for writing bad checks totaling about $300. He was picked up by two magistrates from another county and taken directly to Northampton County Prison. At each promise that he would cover the checks, he was repeatedly released from prison and then rearrested over a period of about six months.
After his first release, lacking sufficient money to cover the checks, Gary turned his daughter over to his mother and signed an agreement she had prepared, granting her power of attorney.
Gary never saw an attorney during this time. He later found out from a bail bondsman that he was being given a "shakedown." Every time a public defender was coming to see him, he was immediately released.
Gary got his first taste of abuse of power when he was brought to the private chambers of a judge. The judge ordered the prison guards out of the room and then gave Gary the ultimatum to either get out of town, leaving his daughter behind, or spend the next five years in jail. So he left.
In 1998, Gary sent for his arrest record. It came back from the Pennsylvania State Police Department stating that the arresting party was "unknown." This was no surprise to Gary since he never had a hearing or was told who his accusers were.
Years earlier, Gary asked his mother for a copy of the document they had signed. It came doctored up with the added phrase "legal custody," and now it had witness signatures dated six months after the note was originally signed by only Gary and his mother. This was the note his mother took pleasure in waving in his daughter's face for twenty-one years.
Until recently, Gary's daughter was convinced that he willingly gave her up. At age 23, she finally saw through the deception and accepted the truth behind her separation from her father.
Now Gary has decided that the time has come to fight corruption in America. Over the years, he has watched the problems in America grow worse. Today children are killing children and abuse in the workplace is growing stronger. The violence rages on.
Gary asked himself why. He realized that the violence is deep-rooted in our government. Gary believes we need to take this country back from the government and return it to the American people again.
